Home Horse Show Details

Perennial Farm puts on approximately six Home Horse Shows a year so you/your kids can participate in a horse show.  The kids get a chance to show what they have learned in their lessons.  They will compete with other Perennial Farm riders at the same level.  This is a fun event that everyone enjoys!

Perennial Farm Riding Academy horses and ponies are available to lease for our shows and will be shared among participants as designated by trainers.

*Note that shows/classes are based on participation. If there aren’t enough competitors, we may have to eliminate a class or cancel the show.

Short stirrup show attire: black helmet, hair in braids, navy jacket, white shirt, beige jodhpurs, garters and paddock boots, black gloves.,

Proper Show Attire is required for our home show series.

Please check with your trainer regarding details for your rider.

Note: Children wear jodhpurs, garters, paddock boots through short stirrup and/or pony divisions, up to age 12 or 5’ tall, whichever comes first.

Long stirrup and up requires tall boots or half chaps with paddock boots.

  • Show shirt: the safest choice is white, but there is no required color for the home show.

  • Jackets: preferred in navy or navy pin stripe/ pattern.

  • Children’s garters and paddock boots: preferred in brown, but black is fine too.

  • Jodhpurs and breeches: beige. They fasten on the outside of the paddock boot with an elastic strap that goes on the outside of the boot to keep them from riding up the leg.

  • Tall boots: black.

  • Helmets: black. No white or colored Troxel helmets.

  • Long hair: braided for riders up through short stirrup. Hair must be up inside helmets with a hair net for those not in braids. No flowing locks please.

  • We have helmets ($55), gloves ($25), and crops ($20) available for purchase at the stable. See below for local tack shops.
